Last October, the Huaxia Road Community in Xinhe Neighborhood, Kaifu District, Changsha, collaborated with the Huaxia Farmers' Market to create a reading space called the "4:30 Corner" at the prime location near the market entrance. This initiative addresses the challenges faced by merchants' children, who often lack after-school supervision and must do homework at their parents' stalls.Recently, the newly upgraded "4:30 Corner" officially opened, featuring brighter lights and a wider variety of books. Additionally, the community partnered with social organizations and universities to provide free tutoring for children. A dedicated book corner was set up, where books in literature, popular science, history and other fields are available and updated regularly to meet the reading needs of children of different ages.The Huaxia Farmers' Market was built in 2017, with an area of about 3,700 square meters and more than 100 merchants. About 90% of the merchants' children are studying in nearby primary and secondary schools. In the past, most of these children had no choice but to study and rest at their parents' stalls after school or during summer and winter vacations.
