Recent visitors to Houhu Lake in Changsha, Hunan province, encountered a vibrant hanfu (traditional Chinese attire) parade and cultural performances during a spring celebration blending tradition with modernity.
The event allowed attendees to take photos with performers dressed as "Flower Deities" and "Floral Fairies" while exploring a themed marketplace featuring intangible cultural heritage crafts, traditional snacks and Chinese-style creative products like oil-paper umbrellas, handheld silk fans and hanfu accessories.

The festival reimagined cultural heritage for Gen-Z participants, dismantling the stereotype that traditional practices are outdated. Young attendees interacted with hanfu enthusiasts and artistic creators, fostering fresh energy for campus interest clubs.
For university students, the event offered an affordable spring outing paired with immersive cultural learning – dressing in hanfu to explore stalls, play traditional games and capture photos transformed textbook knowledge into lived experience.
